EUROPEAN FLEXIBLE AND WEARABLE ELECTRONICS ASSOCIATION DATA USE POLICY (GDPR)

These principles constitute aggregated information obligations in line with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation) hereinafter referred to as “GDPR”, for the benefit of data subjects (you, User) that provide their personal data to the SmartEEs – European Flexible and Wearable Electronics Association non-profit organization (hereafter referred to as FWEA) as a data controller.

The personal data will be kept while the User continues using the FWEA platform, until the registration is cancelled. If the User requests exiting the platform permanently, all related data will be correctly deleted according to the GDPR normative.

IS IT COMPULSORY TO PROVIDE ALL THE INFORMATION REQUESTED IN THE FORMS ON THE WEBSITE?

In order to become a member or sign up for communications (such as a newsletter), Users must complete the spaces marked “compulsory” (denoted by ‘*’). If they do not complete the required personal data or only partially provide them, this could mean that FWEA is unable to deal with their requests and therefore FWEA will be exonerated from all liability for not rendering or not fully rendering the requested services.

CAN I DISCLOSE CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION IN THE REGISTRATION FORM?

We recommend Users do not disclose Confidential Company Information in data provided in the application for membership (company details, service descriptions), as it may be shared with FWEA board members in order to approve membership. Each member company will also be featured on the website once their membership has been approved, meaning that the company description they provide and contact details will be made public. Further, any use of the SmartEEs marketplace will involve public disclosure of company details and service descriptions.

TO WHOM WILL USERS’ DATA BE DISCLOSED?

Users’ data will be shared with the FWEA board with regard to applications for membership. All our third-party board members are compliant with EU data privacy regulations. Users signing up only for communications (such as a newsletter), will not have their data shared with any other members, of the board or otherwise, unless express consent has been given. At all times, FWEA will control and be responsible for the use of your information. FWEA will record, through analytic tools, information on who opens newsletters and who clicks on which stories. FWEA uses this information to improve and focus news coverage, website content, and social media posts; FWEA will not pass this information to anyone else except in aggregated and hence anonymous form.

WHAT ARE USERS’ RIGHTS REGARDING THEIR PERSONAL DATA?

Users may exercise their right of access to their personal data and to request rectification of any incorrect data or, if need be, request deletion when the data are no longer necessary for the purposes for which they were obtained. They may also request restriction, portability and objection to their data being processed under certain circumstances and for reasons related to their particular situation. They are also entitled to withdraw their consent at any time without this retroactively affecting the personal data processing carried out up to such time. Users can unsubscribe from email communications, including Newsletters, at any time using the link provided in the communications. Users may exercise their aforementioned rights, according to the terms and conditions in the law in force, by submitting a request by email to info@smartees.tech.
